Manifesto

01

Introduction

We remember a different internet.

An internet where the network was a space for the free exchange of information. People decided for themselves what to read, what to search for and which sources to trust. Access to knowledge was determined by personal choice, not by place of residence.

Today that model is breaking down. The internet is being cut into increasingly isolated zones where governments, network operators and platforms dictate which resources you may access and which you may not. The same window onto the world stands open in one country and is nailed shut in another. The decision about what information you are allowed to receive is made for you.

Is that fair? In our view, it is appalling.

At IRVIO, we believe that network infrastructure has no right to decide what a person may see. That is precisely why we are building IRVIO.

02

A different model

A new reality requires fundamentally different tools. We are building a network where internet access is provided not by yet another “trusted” VPN provider, a data center or one company’s infrastructure, but by the participants themselves.

IRVIO is a fully distributed P2P network. Instead of the familiar path “user → VPN service → internet,” your device connects directly to another IRVIO participant, which becomes your Exit Node.

We do not want to replace one centralized VPN server with another centralized server under a new name. That is why IRVIO separates its service infrastructure from the transport of user traffic. This is the central principle, the foundation of the architecture and the essence of the network.

03

The network belongs to its participants

IRVIO must not depend on the existence of one company or one or more “reputable” data centers.

Individual nodes may appear and disappear, users may connect and disconnect, and the service infrastructure may change. The network itself must continue to operate as long as participants remain able to find one another and establish direct connections.

As the geographic reach of IRVIO’s participants grows, so does the geographic reach of the network itself. A new participant is not only a new user. Potentially, it is another IRVIO point of presence in the world.

04

Our idea

We are not trying to build another service that dictates the rules of the game. IRVIO is pure transport. Users choose their own exit country and decide for themselves which information to use.

The internet was created as a free network between people and computers, not as a collection of digital enclosures. IRVIO is an attempt to defend that idea through technical means. Even in this world gone mad.

05

Conclusion

IRVIO is free and fully open. It does not collect browsing history or keep logs of user traffic.

Why? Because we believe in people and trust them. We believe in their common sense. We believe that every person deserves a free internet and free access to information.

Will you believe in IRVIO? That is a question whose answer we have yet to discover.

Respectfully,
the IRVIO team.
